I like Shades. I really do, and the concept is really great; with so much potential for improvement. However, in my opinion, the hardest part of a game Should Not be its controls.
The game is addicting and fun to play, and it is very satisfying to connect the shapes in the correct order. The color schemes (except yellow) are very pleasing to the eye (in my opinion), and I Love the ability to choose between 3, 4, or 5 rows. So five stars for that, and for the custom dialogue boxes.
BUT: The most difficult part of playing a game of shades is using the controls. If you want to line up a block, you have to wait until it stops forming from the top bar before you can even place your finger on the screen to control the row it goes to. This would be no big deal, except for the fact that it makes it completely impossible to regain control over the game if you make a mistake when the blocks are coming quickly. Trying to hold your finger on the row you want to use is even worse; if you do this you have to lift your finger and place it down again. Simply put, the controls are the games rage factor. Beware!
